Dr Ng Chong Ching is trained both as a Physiotherapist and Osteopath and now, practises as a Clinical Manual Therapist.
Dr Ng Chong Ching (Doctor of Manual Therapy) graduated as a physiotherapist in 1999. He has since been working with clients suffering from neuro musculoskeletal pain and dysfunctions. Having a strong interest in manual therapy has led him to study different schools of manual therapy.
Currently, Chong Ching is the first manual physiotherapist with osteopathic qualification in Singapore. The application of osteopathic physiotherapy has allowed him to help sufferers with complex conditions, of which neither physiotherapy nor osteopathy alone can treat as effectively. He also actively teaches manual therapy to physiotherapists both locally and abroad. He was an Academic Associate at Republic Polytechnic, Singapore, School of Health and Leisure Science, and a part time lecturer and clinical instructor with Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore, School of Health Science, Physiotherapy.
The course was helpful in providing a different perspective in patient care which will help me grow as a well-rounded clinician. It was clear that Dr Chong is an expert in his field as he explained the course and his rationale in a succinct and easy to understand way - Myra, Senior Podiatrist
The manual therapy assessment and treatment course was highly informative, contains useful practical knowledge and is well-facilitated. Dr. Ng Chong Ching is very supportive, skillful and knowledgeable. Although some practical parts were challenging, Dr. Ng was able to clarify it. He was great at conducting the course and I would highly recommend the course to anyone who is interested.
The manual therapy course ran by Dr Ng Chong Ching was incredibly insightful. He is extremely patient in guiding us through some of the techniques, which some of them were quite challenging especially for me who has small hands and is of a small stature. But Dr Ng managed to teach out of the box to try and convert my disadvantage into my strength in this course. Overall, I learnt a great deal be it in different techniques of manual therapy that would be very beneficial to my practice.
I found the manual therapy course to be informative and practical. The course taught us about the different manual therapy techniques that could be applied to the lower extremities and helped us draw better connections between pathologies of the lower limb that are associated with the upper extremities. Dr Ng was knowledgeable and approachable, he also provided a great balance of theoretical and hands-on learning. Overall, the course was enjoyable and I feel more confident in my ability to incorporate manual therapy into my practice.
Dr Ng is very experienced and knowledgeable. I learnt new assessment and manual techniques which are applicable to my clinical practice. He also taught me to broaden my perspective and to look beyond the foot
