Introduction
Biomechanical analysis for foot pain and dysfunction must be performed with a systematic approach of the body kinetic linkages, in order to accurately determine the cause of symptoms. In this one-day practical based course, we will examine the assessment and treatment of lower limb pathologies through manual therapy techniques.
Aims
This course aims to understand the linkages of the neuro-lumbopelvic region to the feet and develop manual therapy skills for managing feet pain and disorders.
Outline
The course content is split into the following sections:
1. Case study discussion
2. Presentation
3. Practical
Target Audience
This course is aimed for podiatrists and physiotherapists. Other interested professionals such as medical doctors, chiropractors or osteopaths who are interested in this subject are welcome to join.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the different schools of thought behind manual therapy for peripheral joints using different treatment paradigms
- Determine the driver of pain/injuries and common techniques to eliminate pain sensations
- Use manual techniques to assess the lumbopelvic area
- Assess the structural deficits of the lower limbs
