Introduction

Besides direct trauma as the main cause, upper limb symptoms involving the shoulder, elbow, and wrist are strongly linked to the cervical plexus and cranial fascia. Understanding these connections is vital for treatment success. This two-day, practical-based workshop will explore the manual therapy assessment and treatment of these connections.

Aims

Over two days, this workshop will guide you through how Spinal Articular Therapy (SAT) can be used to assess and treat neuromusculoskeletal conditions effectively.

Outline

This workshop focuses on the relationship between the cervico-cranium complex and upper limb disorders. Participants will learn to:

  1. Understand the kinetic connections between the cervico-cranium region and the upper limbs
  2. Apply manual therapy techniques targeting the shoulder, elbow, and wrist
  3. Assess and treat fascial and membranous structures related to upper limb function
  4. Perform neurodynamic tests and manage neural membrane dysfunctions in the upper limbs
  5. Conduct assessments and apply treatment techniques for cranial and intracranial fascial systems
  6. Integrate exercise-based therapy to support recovery and performance in the upper quadrant

Target Audience

It is aimed at Medical Doctors, Allied Health Professionals & Therapists and TCM Doctors.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the clinical rationale behind the use of Spinal Articular Therapy (SAT)

  • Enhance their ability to assess and diagnose spinal pain and dysfunction

  • Perform a range of spinal mobilisation and manipulation techniques confidently
